Our Love Story
How we met
Adam and Erica’s story started in a pretty unlikely place — on a ride to the airport before Adam left for a work trip to the Netherlands. A family friend was driving him, and somewhere between basketball talk and airport traffic, asked if he was single. When Adam said yes, the friend mentioned someone he should meet: a Jewish doctor, a Canadian, and — most importantly — a Green Bay Packers fan. Adam laughed and said, “You had me at Packers fan.”
Erica, meanwhile, had no idea this car ride was setting anything in motion, but she was intrigued when they were connected — especially since Adam was nearly impossible to find on social media, leaving his LinkedIn profile as her only source of intel. Their first date was at a bourbon bar, where they played a game of Battleship — a slightly competitive start that quickly gave way to an easy, natural connection. Between shared values, a love of sports, and plenty of laughter, what started as a simple introduction began to feel like something more.

Fast forward to
After two years of adventures, travel, and lots of sports talk, they both knew they had found something special. Erica had one request: no asking her parents for permission — this is 2026, after all — but asking for their blessing was fair game. Adam rose to the occasion, inviting Bethe and Sheldon to a “practice” work presentation that quickly turned into a full PowerPoint pitch on why he should marry Erica — easily the most important presentation of his career.

The proposal
Adam proposed on the rooftop of The Whiskey Factory, the same place they’ll celebrate their wedding. He hid the ring inside a custom illustrated book featuring the two of them and their dog Weasley, complete with a few magical touches created by Cliff Wright the illustrator of several original Harry Potter books. The moment felt completely “them” — thoughtful, creative, and full of meaning. When Adam asked the question, saying yes was the easiest part — a reflection of the life they were already building, side by side.
